Cactus are started exactly like succulents. Cactus will grow outdoors in zones 3-10 but they dislike soggy soil conditions and these mini cactus thrive best indoors where you can control the moisture levels.

It's best to start them in pots in a soil mixture of half coarse sand or vermiculite and half peat. For Cactus we like to use a Tupperware type container with holes in the bottom and a translucent lid the help maintain moisture.  You can also use 4" landscape pots that have holes in the bottom.   These seeds are all sizes, down to half the size of a grain sand, so they can be difficult to handle.  We find it's best to sow all of the seeds in your packet on the surface of your potting mix, pressing the larger seeds into the surface of your potting mix.  If you have fine sand or vermiculite you can lightly dust the surface of your potting mix but don't cover too heavily as they require light to germinate.

While germinating they do like their soil moist, but not soaking wet. We keep our Tupperware pot or landscape pot (with holes in the bottom) in a larger tray that always has about 1" of water in it. If you let your potting mixture dry out while cactus are germinating means certain failure. We also loosely cover the pot with a translucent lid or plastic wrap to ensure the seeds don't dry out. Place your container under an artificial light source and keep it from getting too hot. We use flourescent shop lights, but you can also use LED grow lights. Don't use incandescent light bulbs, or place in direct sunlight, or you will generate too much heat.

These are slow to germinate, and once germinated grow slowly, so patience is required if you want to grow these. Do not expect them to germinate and create full size Cactus in a few days.

Once they germinate, and are about 1/4" tall, you can remove the plastic wrap. Slowly reduce your water amounts and once 1/2" tall you can transplant them. Cactus are a dry weather plant so in their permanent home use a coarse blend of cactus ready soil, or make you own by mixing 50% potting mix with 50% coarse material like pearlite and coarse sand. Water sparingly.

Hate the Price, but love the ink.
Style: Ink
I totally hate the price of printer ink, mostly when it dries out when not in constant use, but I purchased generic and my printer would not let me use it and i have avoided the firmware update. So back to buying epson ink. It worked the minute i loaded it into the printer. Epson ink is great. it was great color and quality. Just hate the price tag.

Pricey but they work
Style: Ink
Pricey but the remanufactured ones either don't work at all, or they work for a short time then go belly up...

Run out of ink quickly
Style: Ink
When you have the Epson work Workforce Pro 3820 it only accepts Epson cartridges none of the cheaper ones Epson cartridges run out of ink really fast I actually had some of the non-epson brand cartridges in there they worked a couple of times but then one day they absolutely refuse to work so they're worthless and then I had to actually buy the Epson brand name
