The Philodendron scandens is an uncomplicated and easy-to-care-for plant that thrives almost anywhere.

Philodendron brazil does well in low light and drier conditions. 'Brazil' is a cultivar of the classic Philodendron scandens with variegated leaves that can have very different patterns.

Care.

Philodendron scandens 'Brasil' is one of the easiest climbing plants for indoor environments.

As a young plant, it crawls along the ground until it finds something to climb, usually a tree. At this stage, it is small, can handle very little light, and has rather inconspicuous leaves. Once it finds a tree, it starts climbing upwards , attaching itself with aerial roots. From then on, it needs more light and less moisture. Only then does it develop the typical leaves of the species, which also become considerably larger.

The natural growth habit can be imitated at home with, for example, a moss pole. It can also be grown as a hanging plant in a hanging basket, but then the leaves will be smaller.

This plant likes it less wet than you might think for a species from the rainforest. The soil should never dry out completely, but it definitely shouldn't be really wet for long periods, as that can damage the roots! It's therefore better to water a little less and at least let the surface dry out between waterings. How long this takes depends on the location, pot size and even the time of year!

Replant if necessary in a well-drained soil mixture such as our aroid soil.

Botanical description.

The species originates from Central and South America, where it grows in tropical areas. Philodendron scandens is a synonym for the actual scientific name 'Philodendron hederaceum var. honorarium'.

Appearance.

The plant has shiny, thick, heart-shaped leaves that elegantly follow the stems and reach for the light. Indoors, it can grow up to 2–3 meters tall , with a growth rate of several decimeters per year.

'Brasil' stands out for its contrasting colors , where the dark green base is adorned with irregular golden yellow elements. Buy Philodendron scandens 'Brasil' online!

Not very puffy puffy jacket
Size: XX-Large, Color: Denim Blue
At xxl the shoulders fit well and perhaps the first jacket where the sleeves came down to my wrists and not halfway to my elbows if I reached forward. Love the zipper. The zipper pull is at my right hand side. It is where i would use my right hand to engage and pull it closed. The zipper glides smoothly. The hood is voluminous. There is no string available to control the fit of the hood. As it us the hood is much too large. It makes the jacket look cheap and unfinished. The jacket would be immeasura bly better if the was a bit more fill in the body and a string pull in the face of the hood to bring the fit closer.

It's thin but it's good for cooler mornings and windy days
This jacket is not super thick or sherpa/fleece lined. But it's great for cooler temperatures, windy days, or staying warm while out on a boat. It's lightweight, cuts the wind and is great for layering. Folding it into the bag makes it ideal for travel and camping

Okay for the price
Size: XX-Large, Color: Denim Blue
The product was light and compact for packing for an Alaska cruise. It was also sufficiently warm and relatively rain resistant. But on the second day of wearing, the zipper blew out. I was able to fix for a short while, but in the end, I couldn’t use it.
