The "7 Pot Primo" is officially a record record breaking 1,790,150 SHU.
In 2005, while at the Horticulture Department of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Primo created the “7 Pot Primo" which is widely considered (and debated) to be the hottest pepper in the world! With an average heat level of 1.79 million Scoville heat units, a single 7 Pot Primo pepper is roughly 360 times hotter than a Jalapeño. Over time, Primo's pepper varieties have gained global recognition and developed an enthusiastic international following (with orders of 15 or more seeds)
